Drawing from a holster is one of the most important—and often overlooked—skills in defensive shooting. Whether you're carrying openly or concealed, your ability to safely and confidently draw your firearm can make all the difference in a real-world encounter.
This course is designed to help you develop a safe, smooth, and consistent holster draw through focused dry-practice, structured live-fire drills, and personalized coaching. You’ll learn the full draw stroke, from grip establishment to first accurate shot, along with proper reholstering techniques, clothing considerations, and defensive mindset tips.

Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver License, State ID, CCW/CHL, or passport)
- Proof of prior training:
- Certificate of completion from First Shots, Next Shots, or another recognized basic handgun course
- OR documented experience showing safe firearm handling knowledge (subject to instructor approval)

Requirements
To ensure a safe and productive learning environment, students must meet the following requirements:
- Basic firearms safety knowledge
- Prior live-fire experience (e.g., completion of a First Shots®, CCW, or introductory handgun course)
- Strong understanding of trigger discipline and muzzle awareness
- Comfortable handling and operating a firearm independently
🎒 Gear Checklist – Own the Draw
To participate safely and get the most out of this course, please bring the following:
? Required Gear:
- Handgun (semi-auto or revolver) in good working condition
- Quality holster (must fully cover trigger guard and stay open for safe reholstering)
- Strongly recommended: Kydex or rigid OWB/IWB holsters
- Please Note: Serpa, soft, fabric, or collapsible holsters (e.g., nylon) are not permitted for safety reasons. If you have questions about gear, please reach out before class!!
- Sturdy gun belt (designed to support the weight of a holstered firearm)
- Minimum of 2 magazines (or speedloaders for revolvers)
- Eye and ear protection (electronic hearing protection preferred)
- 100–150 rounds of factory ammunition
- Cover garment (e.g., hoodie, jacket, or untucked shirt for concealed carry practice)
- Notebook and pen (for notes and drills)

- Magazine pouch or carrier
- Hydration and snacks
