Description
This three day instructor development course is designed for experienced shooters who are ready to become NRA Certified Pistol Instructors. The goal of this program is to develop confident, capable instructors with the knowledge, skills, and professional mindset required to safely and effectively teach the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting (BoPS) course.

Course Schedule:
Class 1: NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Instructor Led Training (taken as a student)
Friday, February 20th from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Class 2: NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT)
Saturday, February 21st from 10:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Class 3: NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Instructor Level Training
Sunday, February 22nd from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Course Requirements Overview:
Day One:
Candidates attend and complete the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course as a student and must earn a minimum score of 90% on both the written exam and shooting qualification.
Day Two:
Candidates attend and actively participate in the six-hour NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) course focusing on teaching methods, course organization, and instructor responsibilities.
Prior to Day Three:
Candidates complete a required pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate firearm proficiency during pre course assessment exercises. A minimum passing score of 80% is required.
Day Three:
Candidates complete the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course as an instructor candidate and must earn a minimum score of 90% on both the written exam and shooting qualification.

Expectations and Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, achieving passing scores on the written exams and shooting qualifications, and after successful submission of paperwork and payment of applicable fees to the NRA, the Instructor Candidate will be Certified as a Basics of Pistol Shooting (BOPS) Course Instructor.

Documentation Requirements
A valid driver license is required. A valid Ohio CHL is strongly recommended.
Students must be a U.S. citizen or a U.S. person, defined as a natural person who is a lawful permanent resident under 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or a protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3). Participants must present a valid driver license or government issued photo identification. Visa holders, including work or travel visas, are not eligible to participate in any Northpointe Training LLC courses involving firearms.
This course is intended for individuals who are not prohibited from possessing or using a firearm under any applicable federal, state, or local law, are of good repute, and can legally participate in firearms training.

Requirements
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- Valid Driver License
- Notetaking materials
- 1” 3-Ring Binder
- Firearm (if needed, this may be rented from the range) – Please note .22 caliber firearms are NOT acceptable for this class
- 200 rounds or more of proper factory ammunition for your firearm – NO RELOADS!! FYI, the more ammo you have, the more we will be able to shoot. If needed, ammo may be purchased from the range.
- Eye and ELECTRONIC ear protection
- Standard range attire is required. Closed toe shoes, a high collar shirt with full chest coverage, a brimmed hat, pants or longer shorts recommended, and hair tied back
- Avoid low cut tops, loose necklines, scarves, dangling accessories, open pockets, or loose footwear
- Drinks, snacks, and lunch
- A Positive Attitude!!
- Due to the amount of material we will need to cover, we will have a working lunch. Door Dash, Grub Hub, etc. are available to deliver to our location
