Description
The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course is a great way for you to learn the basics of pistol shooting from the top firearms training organization in the world!! This 8-hour class is very informative, hands-on, and fun!! 🤗
During this course students will spend six (6) hours in the classroom and two (2) hours on the range, learning how to develop safe firearm habits, participating in both classroom and range activities learning to safely handle, store, transport, and use semi-automatic pistols and revolvers. Successful completion of this course will earn the student the certificate required to apply for a Concealed Handgun License (CHL/CCW) from the State of Ohio, if desired.

Documentation Requirements
A valid Ohio Driver License is required for this course.
The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.
Requirements
There are no prerequisites for this class. This course is for individuals who are not disqualified from possessing and/or using a firearm as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, are of good repute, and possess a valid Driver License or Government Issued Identification.
Students will be required to demonstrate safe gun handling skills, such as muzzle awareness and trigger finger discipline during dry-practice and live-fire drills.
Materials Needed:
- Modern defensive pistol
- At least three (3) magazines
- Speed loader
- Mag pouch
- Sturdy gun belt - Please understand this is NOT a Sunday-go-to-meeting belt. This is a rugged belt designed to support the weight of a firearm, a holster, and other carry accessories
- Strong side holster (IWB, OWB, or Appendix) - no shoulder, cross draw, Serpa, or middle-of-back styles. Please note that holsters are NOT to be collapsible (i.e., Uncle Mike's style cloth holsters), and students must be able to holster their firearm using their dominant hand only
- Ammo: 150 rounds
- ELECTRONIC hearing protection - Students must be able to clearly hear and understand instructors/instructions during this training
- Eye protection
- Appropriate range clothing - No low-cut shirts or open-toed shoes, etc.
- Brimmed hat or ball cap
- Note taking materials
- Lunch (We will NOT take a break for lunch – We will have a working lunch), snacks, and hydration
- A willingness to be an attentive, safe, and diligent learner with a positive and receptive attitude!! 😊
