Description
What could you do if you needed to protect yourself without a firearm?? If you’ve wondered whether an everyday item could help you create an opportunity to get away, this class gives you a welcoming place to explore that question.
Flashlight Use, Impact Tools & Environmental Weapons is Course 2 of our Self-Defense Life Skills Academy. This hands on class is designed for people who want practical options and a better understanding of the decisions and responsibilities involved in using them. You’ll explore how a flashlight, an impact tool, or an object in your surroundings might fit into a personal safety plan, along with the limits of each option.
You’ll receive a slim flashlight to take home and practice striking an instructor held pad in a supervised setting. Guided scenarios and discussion will help you think through when to create distance, leave, seek help, or consider a defensive tool. The goal is to build sound judgment alongside practical skills you can continue to develop.
Course 2 meets Thursday, October 22nd, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Brigade Shooting Company, 5131 W. 140th St., Brook Park, OH 44142.
The Academy offers three courses during the same week. You may register for any one of them or take all three:
- Course 1: Situational Awareness & Pepper Spray Use, Tuesday, October 20th, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
- Course 2: Flashlight Use, Impact Tools & Environmental Weapons, Thursday, October 22nd, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
- Course 3: American College of Surgeons Stop the Bleed®, Friday, October 23rd, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Students who complete the course and hands on skills receive an ACS certificate of completion.
Course 1 helps you build the awareness and decision making skills that support a sound defensive mindset, but it is not a prerequisite. You are welcome to take Course 2 on its own.
