Description

Are you thinking about getting your concealed carry permit for personal defense??

Maybe you’re already a permit holder looking for a solid refresher. Or, like many responsible Americans who already have experience with firearms, you may simply want a clearer understanding of the legal responsibilities that come with owning and carrying a gun for personal or family protection.

Or perhaps you’re already comfortable on the range and want to further sharpen your skills in safe handling, storage, and responsible use “just in case.”

This is the class for you!!

Hello, Black Eagles!!

My name is Candy Petticord, and I am the owner and Chief Instructor of Northpointe Training, LLC. With permission from our leader, Mr. Bryant, I wanted to reach out and share details about our upcoming CHL (CCW) class and strongly encourage each of you to attend.

Although Ohio currently has Constitutional Carry and a CHL (CCW) is no longer legally required, I truly encourage you to consider this training so you can fully understand why having a CHL (CCW) is still incredibly important, especially for carriers of color navigating today’s legal and social landscape.

This course will help you confidently understand and navigate Ohio’s Concealed Handgun laws, gain clarity on where, when, and how you may legally carry, and ensure you are protecting yourself physically, legally, and morally.

Also, here’s where this class really stands apart. Your range session is going to be next level.

Ohio requires two hours of live fire range training, and during my class you will experience a range session unlike any other. There will be no standing still shooting .22 rounds at paper plates. You will get meaningful, hands-on trigger time that builds real skill and real confidence. This is real world, skill building, confidence boosting training designed to make you a safer, more capable, more knowledgeable, more prepared, and more confident concealed carrier.

If you currently hold a CHL (CCW) but received it more than three years ago, I also strongly recommend attending. Ohio laws have changed significantly, and many permit holders are unknowingly operating under outdated and more restrictive information than necessary.

This class is designed to empower you with knowledge, confidence, and clarity so you can carry safely, responsibly, and lawfully.

If this class sounds like something you would love to attend, please reply to this email and I will send you the full course information and registration details.

I cannot wait to train with you and bring this amazing and educational experience to our NAAGA Chapter!!

Expectations and Outcomes

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER FIREARM COURSE and range fees and equipment rentals are NOT included in the course fee.

While this course is designed to help and inform new gun owners, it does not teach the fundamentals of shooting a handgun. You will be expected to demonstrate safe, confident, and proficient firearm handling and operation during class.

If you join us as a brand-new shooter, please know that this course may not provide the level of one-on-one attention beginners often need, and you may not meet the requirements to successfully complete the required shooting qualification. I truly want you to succeed and feel confident — so I highly encourage you to join me for a foundational shooting class and/or a private lesson beforehand.

These personalized sessions are relaxed, supportive, and specifically designed to give new shooters the training tools and hands-on guidance they need. You’ll build solid skills, ask every question you want, and show up to the NAAGA Ultimate CHL Course feeling prepared, comfortable, and psyched!!

Upon successful course completion, students will receive a certificate of completion and this 8-hour course satisfies the concealed carry training requirement for the state of Ohio. 😉

Please note: Range fees, firearm rentals, and ammunition purchases are handled separately and are paid directly to The Parma Armory Shooting Center upon check-in.

Requirements

There are no formal prerequisites for this course; however, it is strongly recommended that students complete a Basic Fundamentals Pistol Course or a Private Firearm Lesson beforehand with me at Northpointe Training. Remember, the purpose of this course is to qualify for a license that permits you to carry a firearm for personal defense. With that responsibility comes a required level of skill, confidence, and demonstrated proficiency. It is extremely rare for a true beginner to meet the competency standards necessary for me to comfortably and ethically sign off on course completion.

Again, this class is not designed to teach you how to shoot from scratch!! Instead, it focuses on refining your fundamental skills and building the confidence necessary to carry responsibly for self-defense.

👉 If you’ve never handled a firearm before, we strongly encourage you to schedule a Private Lesson with us or enroll in our basic pistol course prior to registering for this CHL class.

Students will be expected to demonstrate safe gun-handling practices, such as muzzle awareness and trigger finger discipline, throughout both dry-practice and live-fire drills. Range fees and equipment rentals are NOT included in the course fee.

Materials Needed:
  • Modern defensive pistol
  • At least three (3) magazines
