Description
AR-15 Confidence: Learn Your Rifle and Fire Your First Shots is a beginner friendly class for new AR-15 owners, prospective owners, and anyone who wants professional guidance before firing this popular rifle platform.
This supportive three hour class removes confusion and intimidation by giving students a safe environment in which to become familiar with the AR-15 and experience coached live fire. No previous AR-15 experience is required, and firearm ownership is not necessary.
Topics Covered
Covered topics include:
- Firearm safety and responsible AR 15 handling
- Major components and how the rifle operates
- Understanding the safety selector and controls
- Correct ammunition and magazine selection
- Safely loading, unloading, and verifying an unloaded rifle
- Basic rifle stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, and trigger control
- Preparing the rifle for live fire
- Coached first shots and basic accuracy exercises
- Recognizing and responding to common stoppages
- Safe storage, transportation, and continued training options
Expectations and Outcomes
Students should leave with greater confidence handling and operating an AR 15 safely. They should be able to identify and use the primary controls, verify the rifleās condition, load and unload it safely, prepare it for firing, and apply foundational shooting skills during coached live fire.
This introductory class provides a starting point, not mastery. Continued instruction and purposeful practice are strongly encouraged to reinforce safe handling, improve accuracy, and build lasting competence.
