About Protect and DefendHer
Cerina is the founder of Protect and DefendHer, located in Owings Mills. She is a passionate firearms instructor dedicated to empowering women through education on firearms safety and self defense.
Her journey as a firearms instructor began from personal experience and a desire to bridge the gender gap in the field.
She seeks to provide a safe and supportive environment where women can feel comfortable and empowered to learn the essentials of firearm safety and self defense, especially as it relates to beginners and first timers.
We currently offers the following classes:
- 1x1 Private training to focus on individual needs
- Maryland Wear and Carry
- Marlyand HQL
- Basic Pistol
Our mission is to equip women with proper firearm safety and education to leave you feeling confident and empowered to safely protect yourself and your loved ones.

Policies
Cancellation Policy
All classes are non-refundable. Cancellation notice must be given at least 24 hours in advance of the class event in order to reschedule the class or receive a credit towards a different class or private training. Cancellations recieved less than 24 hours of the class event will not be rescheduled nor issued a credit.

FAQ: What should I bring?
Please bring your firearm, up to 25 rounds of ammunition, and eyes and ears, if you have them. If you do not have these items, they will be provided for you.
FAQ: Will I receive my HQL the same day?
No. Upon successful completeion of the class, you will receive a certificate of completion. You will also need to get fingerprinted. Once this is complete, you'll submit your application to the Maryland state police and wait for their response.
