About Self-Protection Academy
Amy’s journey into firearms and self-defense training began in 2020 when she was awakened at 3am by what sounded like someone attempting to break in her back door. It was a “unicorn” situation where the armed suspects were hiding under her house (right below her bedroom) from pursuing police officers. It was an eye-opening experience that showed her how woefully unprepared she was defend herself.
She bought a handgun, was terrified of it, and took action to be a safe, responsible, well-trained firearm owner. From the start, she was fortunate to train with incredibly smart and skilled nationally recognized instructors, giving her a solid foundation for becoming an instructor.
With a background in holistic health and in the service industry, Amy saw the need for developing a well-rounded suite of skills, especially “soft-skills,” the proactive skill set that you need to use 98% of the time to AVOID dangerous encounters. Self-Protection Academy’s courses are for the everyday person, especially women, who want to confidently go about life safely. You will learn relevant skills that you can apply immediately in your life. Classes are approachable, fun and empowering. The goal is to teach you to preserve your life and the lives of your loved ones when it is being devalued for a dollar.

Policies
Cancellation Policy
Class may be cancelled, postponed or rescheduled due to:
Extreme weather
Unforseen events
Insufficient enrollment
Students will be notified as soon as possible, and given the option of rescheduling or a refund.
Reschedule Policy
Students that need to reschedule a class have one calendar year to attend the class. Students may reschedule once, after that they are subject to the refund policy.
Refund Policy
Cancellations more than 7 days prior to the class date will be refunded the course fee minus a $20 administrative charge. Cancellations within 7 days of the class date, will be charged 50% of the course fee. Students will be given the option to reshedule within one calendar year of the class date, if possible, with no penalty.
Other Policy
Safety violations. A safety brief is given at the beginning of each class. If a student violates the safety policies and procedures, the student may be removed from the class with no refund.
