Description

The basic/intermediate pistol class will take you through understanding safe firearm handling, fundamentals of shooting and learning how to draw from a holster.  The intermediate class will cover all the basics as well as honing your skills that you have already learned and pushing past the basics. This is a great class for those who are new to shooting, would like a refresher course, and would like to add more to what they have learned from the past. There will be lots of repetition and dry fire practice with a fun shoot at the end to incorporate all you have learned. Each student will need to check into the main office and pay the range fee ($18 or non-members).

You will need:

  • Proper shoes (tennis shoes/boots)
  • Range bag
  • Sturdy pistol belt
  • Holster (outside-the-waistband, preferably kydex or with good retention)
  • Handgun
  • 2 Magazines (3 preferebly)
  • Eye protection
  • Ear protection
  • 50 rounds of ammo
  • Baseball hat
  • Gloves (to pick up spent casings at the end of the class)
  • Sunscreen
  • Water
  • Snacks
  • Open mind to be coachable

Expectations and Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, you should have a basic understanding of safe firearm handling, fundamentals of shooting, and drawing from a holster.

A certification will only be provided upon request to students who demonstrated the basic understanding of safe firearm handling.
