About Stand Ready Defense
Shooting has been a life-long passion for me. I won my first shooting award in 1976 at Marine Corps boot camp when I outshot 480 other recruits on Qual Day.
I began teaching others how to shoot professionally around 1989 when my 200 person Department assigned me to the Range Staff, based on my handgun qualification scores.
I've taken multiple classes from various Top Tier instructors, including John Farnam, Massad Ayoob and the late, great Jim Cirillo.
I became involved in USPSA and IDPA pistol matches where I achieved a skill ranking of Grand Master and won over 50 State and Regional titles. My highest national finish was Second in IDPA and 5th in USPSA.
I developed my own course curriculum, drawing on my experience and culling the "good stuff" from other courses, while leaving out the unnecessary elements, then added my unique perspective as a former cop and Grand Master competition shooter.
No matter your skill level, I will challenge you and make you a better shooter.
