Description
This five-hour outdoor semi-private pistol training class is for new or novice women who want to build a solid foundation. You’ll learn safe gun handling and the fundamentals of marksmanship. Working from 5 to 12 yards, you'll run courses of fire focused on developing confidence and competence in operating your pistol. You'll be introduced to target focused shooting, shooting longer strings of fire with speed and accuracy, draw stroke, engaging multiple targets and shooting and moving. All classes are held at LCPCPC, 1855 Russell Rd., Lebanon, PA.
What's covered:- Demonstration and practice of the four rules of gun safety, with strict attention to muzzle awareness and trigger discipline. Intro to the basic parts of a pistol and their functions, including red dot sight (RDS) zeroing.
- Technique and training in gun handling, including loading and unloading a pistol, emergency and tactical reloads, clearing malfunctions, and how to draw your pistol from a holster.
- Introduction to shooting fundamentals including stance, grip, target focused aiming, trigger press, follow through and recovery. You’ll understand and build confidence in how to operate your gun.
- You’ll learn to build a consistent, durable grip, draw your gun efficiently, train your index and manage your gun through recoil. You’ll work drills that include engaging multiple targets at various distances and moving with the gun.
Topics Covered
You’ll get lots of trigger time working drills that are relevant to skill development. You’ll put in the practical work that drives real performance improvement, confidence, competency and consistency. Small group classes ensure you’re able to set clearly defined, measurable goals, receive personalized 1:1 coaching, and gain insights that will inform your practice. Classes focus on:
Proper firearm safety
Efficient gun handling, including reloads and drawing your gun from a holster
Fundamentals of marksmanship
More aggressive practical and defensive pistol shooting echniques
Shooting on the move
Engaging multiple targets
Use of time constraints
Expectations and Outcomes
Firearms training designed by a woman for women shooters who want to learn how to run their guns. You’ll be introduced to practical shooting concepts learned in competition that have direct application in defensive contexts. You’ll learn pistol shooting fundamentals and safe gun handling, including drawing your pistol from a holster, reloads and clearing malfunctions. With 180° of mobility at an outdoor range, you’ll learn to shoot on the move and engage multiple targets at various distances and angles. You’ll be pushed to shoot with urgency under time constraints. You’ll understand how to adjust the way you engage targets, applying different levels of confirmation, based on your skill level and the size, distance and risk associated with a target. You’ll hone grip and vision for fast target acquisition and you’ll develop skills for getting your gun to behave predictably and consistently so you can shoot with speed and accuracy.

Documentation Requirements
Valid state driver's license or state photo ID is required.
You'll be required to sign two waivers the morning of class.
The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.
Requirements
- You must have your own semi-auto pistol to attend class. I’m available to help you select and purchase a pistol.
- You'll need electronic ear and eye protection.
- You will need a minimum of 500 rounds of ammunition. More is better.
- Bring a speed loader (I recommend Uplula).
- Bring a baseball cap and sun screen.
- Bring lunch, plenty of water and some snacks. We take a short 15 minute break. I recommend eating light on the range.
