Women's "Try Before You Buy" Pistol Basics

New to shooting and not sure if you want to buy? In this private class  you'll shoot a variety of handguns suitable for sport, self-defense and CCW, including 9mm with both optics and irons, .22 caliber and revolver. No gun, gear or ammo needed. You'll be introduced to safety, gun handling and pistol shooting fundamentals. You’ll come away with a realistic view of shooting based on practical experience. Classes are held at PTA, an indoor shooting range located in South Philadelphia's Italian Market at 831 Ellsworth St.

Topics Covered

• Review of gun safety rules and range safety. Discussion on considerations for pistol selection, including caliber, semi auto pistol vs. revolver, handgun sizes, safeties, and sighting systems.

• Live fire with a variety of handguns for sport, self-defense and CCW, including 9mm Glock 19 Gen 5, Glock 43x, S&W M&P 2.0 Compact, Sig Sauer P365, Ruger Mark IV .22 and S&W J Frame .38 Special.

• Introduction to pistol shooting fundamentals. You'll shoot 75 rounds and come away with a realistic understanding of what to look for in a pistol and the practice and discipline needed to learn how to shoot.

Expectations and Outcomes

This one-hour experiential class is $125 for one person (one hour), or $225 for two people (90 minutes). This price is all inclusive and covers everything you need, from guns to electronic ear and eye pro, to range fee and 75 rounds of ammunition per person.

You'll come away with a much more realistic expectation about the skill needed to shoot a gun with confidence and competence. You'll get practical, hands-on experience to help make a more informed buying decision.

Documentation Requirements

Valid state driver's license or state photo ID is required.

You'll be required to sign two waivers the morning of class.

The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.

Requirements

No gun, ammunition or gear is needed. All you need to do is come to the range. You'll try six high quality handguns and shoot at least 75 rounds. Eye and electronic ear protection will be provided.
