About Wild Geese Training, LLC

Gary Carroll is a retired U.S. Army Infantry officer and retired federal law enforcement professional with a combined 29 years of service. Through Wild Geese Training, he provides professional firearms instruction in Louisiana for students ranging from first-time shooters to experienced gun owners seeking structured skill development.

Gary’s military career included service as both an infantry noncommissioned officer and commissioned officer, as well as qualification as a Bradley Master Gunner. Following his Army retirement, he served as a Special Agent with the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), completing multiple overseas assignments including Afghanistan and Libya.

He is a NRA Certified Pistol Instructor and Louisiana Certified Concealed Handgun Permit Instructor, delivering training aligned with state requirements and nationally recognized safety standards. His instructor development includes completion of the Rangemaster Defensive Shotgun Instructor Development Course and the Rangemaster Advanced Firearms Instructor Development & Certification Course.

Gary maintains a commitment to ongoing professional education and regularly trains with nationally recognized firearms instructors and training institutions. His instructional approach emphasizes safety, responsible ownership, and practical fundamentals tailored to each student’s experience level.
