Description

This 8-hour class is based on essential shotgun skills and employing it within the confines of home and business defense encounters. After addressing the shotgun, the course covers ammunition performance selection, manipulating your ammunition and the shotgun's controls, engaging both single and multiple threats, and movement to and using cover within a structure within the realistic distances for home and business owners.

An understanding of applying the 4 Safety Rules practically while working around your firearm while not hazarding your neighbor.

  • Note taking materials
  • Functional 12 or 20ga shotgun, preferably with a 14"-20" barrel
  • Shell holder
  • Weather-appropriate clothing - this is an OUTDOOR venue
  • Ammunition: 10 rounds of 00B
  • Ammunition: 100 rounds of either 00B or Birdshot, NO STEEL SHOT!
  • Eyes and ears
  • Please bring your lunch, scooby snacks, caffeine, and – of course – water. We will break but there will not be time to leave the range to get food. Less time is devoted to lunch, the more time we can spend on your dot.
  • $10 cash due to range on day of class
