About Emergency Training Associates

Emergency Training Associates was formed in 1998 after being invited to teach American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support courses with a great group of fellow medical professionals.  As a paramedic firefighter I was able to add valuable experience and perspectives and we all learned from each other.  This was not a new thing as my teaching began in my teens as a photography instructor at the store where I worked then for the school system as an adult learning educator.  When I completed several years in paramedic practice I continued my professional growth by completing the very challenging Instructor/Coordinator program and was off teaching initial and continuing education courses both on my own and for a large hospital group.

As a shooter from Cub Scout age, it was natural to handle firearms and when the opportunity to teach the skills came along it was added to our line up of classes.  We now provide courses that save the lives of others and protects yourself, family, friends and sometimes strangers.  As a professional eduction service we give you EDUTAINMENT by making the learning process fun and challenging. You get realistic, up-to-date and accurate information that is appropriate and usefull in everday life.  Even the things I learned in prison ( as a paid contractor ).  Welcome to ETA!

Cancellation Policy

Deposit is non-refundable with a few exceptions.

Reschedule Policy

All funds are applied to a rescheduled course.

Refund Policy

Refunds are based on each situation and are subject to deposit policy.

Other Policy

ETA dress code

We ask that you wear typical casual clothing for our courses.  Untucked shirts, vests and light jackets are great for concealed firearms courses.  Pants should fit well at the waist; no baggy or saggy pants are allowed as this is not conducive to carrying a firearm and poses a safety hazard.  A sturdy belt is required for drawing firearms and dress style belts are not recommended unless they are purposely designed for firearm use.

Clothing should not allow bare skin or underclothing to be visible at any time.  Dress should be layered for outdoor activities and something you don’t mind getting dirty.  Footwear should also be of outdoor type and support your feet well.

Discriminatory, inflammatory, gang-associated or otherwise offensive dress is not allowed at any course we provide and students will be asked to leave and rescheduled for another class.

Hearing and eye protection is required.  Eye protection may be clear or yellow tint.  No dark tint.

Waiver

RELEASE, WAIVER, INDEMNIFICATION, HOLD HARMLESS,

AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT

 

 

 

WHEREAS, in consideration of being permitted to attend a course for instruction in firearms, for the instruction in firearms, for use of premises, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, Undersigned agrees to the following:

 

Undersigned agrees to indemnify, hold harmless and defend Mark Edward Vieta, Emergency Training Associates and the host site, owners, boards and all representatives (hereinafter referred to as “Instructor”), from any and all fault, liabilities, costs, expenses, claims, demands or lawsuits arising our of, related to or connected with: Undersigned’s presence at and/or participation in the course of instruction; the discharge of firearms by Undersigned; Undersigned’s presence of on, use of the range, buildings, land and premises (“Premises”); and, any and all acts or omissions of Undersigned.  This shall include the contraction of, treatment for or continued transmission of or lasting injuries or disabilities resulting from exposure to any communicable disease, viral (virus), bacterial (bacteria), fungal (fungus) or parasitic (parasite) infection transmitted by air, contact with water, surfaces or skin or by bites from insects and or animals, or exposure to plants or chemicals.

              

Undersigned furthermore waives for himself/herself and for his/her executors, personal representatives, administrators, assignees, heirs and next of kin, any and all rights and claims for damages, losses, demands and any other actions or claims whatsoever, which he/she may have or which may arise against Instructor (including but not limited to the death of Undersigned and/or any and all injuries, damages or illnesses suffered by Undersigned or Undersigned’s property), which may, in any way whatsoever, arise or of, be related to or be connected with: the course of instruction; the Premises, including any latent defect in the Premises; Undersigned’s presence on or use of said Premises; Undersigned’s property (whether or not entrusted to Instructor); and, the discharge of firearms.  Instructor shall not be liable for, and Undersigned, on behalf of himself/herself and on behalf of his/her executors, person representative, administrators, assignees, heirs, and next of kin, hereby expressly releases the Instructor from any and all such claims and liabilities.

 

Undersigned hereby expressly assumes the risk of taking part in the course for instruction in firearms and taking part in the activities on the Premises, which include, but not limited to, instruction in the use of firearms, the discharge of firearms and the firing of live ammunition.

 

Undersigned hereby acknowledges and agrees that Undersigned has read the instrument and understands it terms and is executing the instrument voluntarily. Undersigned furthermore hereby acknowledges and agrees that he/she has read, understands and will at all times abide by all range rules and procedures and any other rules and procedures stated by the Instructor.

 

Undersigned expressly agrees that the instrument is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law, and that if any provisions of the instrument is held invalid or otherwise unenforceable, the enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not be impaired thereby. No remedy conferred by any of the specific provisions of this instrument is intended to be exclusive of any other remedy, and each and every remedy shall be cumulative and shall be in addition to every other remedy now or hereafter existing at law or in equity or by statute or otherwise. The election of any one or more remedy hereunder by the Instructor shall not constitute any waiver or Instructor’s right to purse other available remedies. This instrument binds Undersigned and his/her executors, person representatives, administrators, assignees, heirs and next of Kin.

Undersigned agrees to photography, video recording of and reproduction or display of such at the discretion of the Instructor.
