Description
"The NRA's Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training (FIRST) program was developed to meet the growing demand among new gun owners for a comprehensive introduction to firearm safety and responsible ownership."
Topics Covered
Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.
Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor.
Expectations and Outcomes
NRA FIRST Steps Course completion certificate. Successful completion of this training, students would be able to apply for most state CCW permit.
