Description
The Armed D.C. Special Police Officer (SPO) Training is a comprehensive 40-hour course designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to become commissioned armed security personnel in Washington, D.C. This training is mandated by the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (DCMR) Title 6A, Chapter 11, and is a prerequisite for those seeking armed SPO certification
Topics Covered
Firearms Safety Rules/Common Sense: Emphasis on safety protocols and practical judgment.
Basic Marksmanship: Stance, Grip, Sight Alignment, Sight Picture, Trigger Control, Breath Control, Follow Through and Mental Discipline
Use of Force: Guidelines on appropriate use of force in various situations.
DC MPD General Orders: Weapon handling
Fundamentals of Shooting: Basic principles of shooting techniques.
Basic Defensive Marksmanship: Combat-Effective Accuracy, Speed with Control, Close-Range Engagements, Use of Cover and Movement, Threat Recognition and Target Discrimination, Stress Exposure and Proper Defensive Mindset
Course of Fire: Structured shooting exercises to assess proficiency.
Dry Fire Practice: Non-live ammunition practice to enhance skills.
Live Range Qualification: Practical shooting test to demonstrate competency.
Expectations and Outcomes
Sucessful completion students will receive training certificate and score sheet to apply for their DC Armed SPO Commission.

Must be 21 or older for this course.
Note: Must have an Unarmed DC SPO Commission or Completed our Pre-AssignmentTraining and able to obtain an Unarmed Commission with a security company within 30 days of successfully completion of this training.
