Description
During this highly informative basic pistol course, we will teach you safe gun handling, including trigger discipline, field stripping, cleaning, reassembling, and storing your firearms. The most common causes of gun accidents are ignorance and carelessness. Let Mountain Rose Defensive teach you the proper mindset and skills necessary to safely use, clean, and store your firearm before you ever fire a shot.
This classroom course does not include any live fire training or range instruction and is suitable for all ages and skill levels.

Topics Covered
We will discuss and practice safe gun handling, using inert rubber replicas (blue guns) and other non-lethal props, as well as handgun anatomy and nomenclature, how to select the right gun and ammunition for your needs, carry and holster options, firing range etiquette, and conflict avoidance.
Expectations and Outcomes
By the end of this course, students should feel very comfortable with their understanding of how the modern handgun works and what options exist for both defensive and marksmanship pistols. Students should feel empowered to sign up for their first live fire pistol training, either in a group class or with a private instructor.
