In this session, legendary firearms expert John Farnam will explain various legal issues involving the Use of Deadly Force and when the use of deadly force is justifiable. This is critical information for all gun owners, especially those who hold CCW/CHL permits and may someday find themselves needing to use a firearm to protect themselves or someone they love.
Topics Covered
Mr. Farnam will talk openly and candidly about which rights are granted to the average civilian (or not!!) by a carry permit/license and he will dispel some misconceptions about your legal rights when it comes to the use of deadly force. You’ll learn about the “Reasonable Person Standard,” what it means, and how it will be applied to you in a self-defense encounter. You will also learn actions to take if you’re ever involved in a self-defense encounter and things you must say and do to pass the reasonable-person standard.
Expectations and Outcomes
Students will leave this lecture with a better understanding of their rights and responsibilities as CCW/CHL holders and the potential legal ramifications of the use of deadly force in an encounter.
