My name is John Wootton, I am an NRA certified Pistol instructor. I am a United states Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Competition Shooter and am a certified Range officer through the National range officers institute (NROI). I also compete heavily in multigun. I have placed highly in many local matches including placing 1st place in the North East Ohio Multigun Shootoff. I have Competed in the practical shooting sports for many years and am an experienced competitor and well known in the local shooting sports community. I can Teach and Train in various Firearms skill sets including CCW, Basic pistol, intermediate pistol, advanced pistol, Rifle work, Competition Shotgun and home Defence shotgun. I am very knowledgable in long range shooting and can teach new shooters the basics of long range.

Aegis firearms training mission statement.

We are in an unprecedented point in American history. More Americans than ever are becoming first time gun owners, and many of them from families that have no history of responsible gun ownership, or family members able to teach and train others in the proper and appropriate use of firearms. I, John Wootton, as a long time gun enthusiast and competition shooter, understand what it is like to seek firearms education while coming from a family with few to no gun owners. It can be frustrating and dangerous to rely on the internet and youtube as your sole source of firearms education and information. Being a responsible gun owner is about much more than simply owning a firearm and keeping a clean criminal record, its about representing the gun owner community, holding yourself and all those who have access to your firearms to a standard of education and discipline, knowing the laws and regulations surrounding your property, and keeping your firearms skills and knowledge sharp and up to date. I formed Aegis Firearms Training LLC to provide a service to the gun owner community, to serve the 2nd amendment culture in a more direct way by helping to educate and develop safety and skills in new gun owners. We each have a responsibility as gun owners to show our communities that gun ownership represents a culture in America, not of violence and lawlessness, but of personal security and individual sovereignty. I formed this company to help the firearms community keep up with and educate this massive influx of inexperienced and possibly unsafe new gun owners with the end goal of preserving our rights as American citizens to keep and bear arms for generations to come.

Policies

Cancellation Policy

 Aegis Firearms Training LLC reserves the right to cancel any training program at any time with reasonable notice given to participants. If a class is cancelled, refunds will be paid in full or participants may apply their credit toward future training classes. In the event of a cancellation, Aegis Firearms Training is not responsible for any non-refundable travel expenses or penalties a participant may incur. This includes but is not limited to, air travel, hotels, ETC. 

If a participant cancels

1. 4 weeks prior or greater, the participant will receive a 100% full refund.
2. Less than 4 weeks but greater than 3 weeks, the participant will receive a 100% credit towards future training.
3. Less than 3 weeks but greater than two weeks, the participant will receive a 50% credit towards future training.
4. Less than 2 weeks but greater than one week, the participant will receive a 25% credit towards future training. 
5. Less than 1 week, the participant will forfeit 100% of their credit.

6. If a student Violates Range safety rules and is deemed unsafe to participate the student will not recieve a refund.

Other Policy

Participants should always bring food, drinks, and medications that will be needed for the duration of the training events. 

Most training events are conducted outdoors. All training events will be held regardless of weather unless there is a risk of lightning.

Participants should bring weather appropriate clothing and are encouraged to bring extra clothing and footwear.

Aegis Firearms Training LLC operates a cold range and participants must arrive with bagged, unloaded firearms. Rifles must have chamber flags or be bagged/cased. Firearms may only be loaded under the direct supervision of the range officer.

Waiver

All Students will be required to fill out a waiver with the basic outline as follows before any trainig:

PROMISE NOT TO SUE

SUBJECT:  RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT NOT TO SUE

I wish to voluntarily engage in a firearms safety or maintenance class activity with, Aegis Firearms Training LLC located at, Dynamic Shooting Sports LLC , and or at other facilities / hotels / ranges that will involve the use of live ammunition in the firing of firearms. I understand that engaging in these activities may be hazardous, with accompanying risks of personal injury, death, and or loss or damage to my property. In consideration of my participation in such activities, I, on my own behalf and that of my heirs, successors, representatives, administrators and assigns, and with promise of a non-instigated lawsuit hereby:

1.      Waive and completely release any and all, past, present or future claims, causes of action, suits, rights, damages, costs, expenses or obligations or demands of any kind whatsoever, I, or anyone on my behalf might have against Aegis Firearms Training LLC, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries or successor corporations and the owners of Aegis Firearms Training LLC and their respective officers, directors, servants, employees, agents, representatives and contractors (the "Released Parties"), for any loss, damage, personal injury, death and/or loss of damage to my property resulting from my participation in such shooting activities;

2.      Agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Aegis Firearms Training LLC, and the other Released Parties, from any and all claims by any person, firm, corporation or others, for any damages, loss or claims, of any nature, arising in any way out of my participation in such shooting activities; and

3.      Assume all risks associated with such activities and all responsibility for medical expenses, costs and/or other obligations and other losses or injuries to me or in which I may become involved, by reason of my participation in such firearms activities at the aforementioned address.

4.      I further certify that I am over 18 years of age and have read and understand this Waiver of Liability and have executed this instrument voluntarily on this date.

5.      Parents of children below the age of 18 years must print their children’s names at the bottom of this wavier and sign for them.

6.      I have read the SCHOOL Gun Safety Rules and will abide by them whole or in part while attending the school.
