After retiring from a sales and marketing career with a Fortune 50 consumer products company, and taking some time to settle into my new life, I began getting requests from friends, neighbors, and loved ones asking me to help them learn how to shoot or buy a gun.  So, it wasn't long before those same folks asked if I taught Concealed Weapons classes.  Thus began my journey into the world of certified firearms instruction.  First with USCCA and their Defensive Shooting Fundamentals certification and then NRA's Basic Pistol, Refuse To Be A Victim and RSO certifications.  It was at that point that Palmetto Patriot Firearms Training, LLC was founded. The Mission of PPFT, LLC is to provide reasonably priced firearms training classes that focus students on firearms safety and skill development which will allow students to lawfully respond to a violent attack upon themselves or their loved ones.

Instructor Experience: Having grown up in a rural areea of Central Virginia, hunting and recreational shooting primarily with rifles and shotguns was a part of our culture.  My use of handguns began in 1990 when I bought my first handgun, a full frame Ruger 9mm and have been training ever since.  I am a USCCA Official Partner and have instructor certifications from USCCA in Basic Pistol, Defensive Handgun Shooting, AR-15 Funamemtals, Emergecny First Aid, Children's Firearm Safety, Basic Handgun for Women, Countering the Mass Shooting Threat, and Concealed Carry & Home Defense, and am a USCCA Training Counselor which allows me to teach instructor level classes.  I have been certified by South Carolina SLED and the North Carolina DOJ to teach each states respective Concealed Weapons Permit classes.  I recently became an American Red Cross Adult & Pediactric First Aid/CPR/& AED instructor with additional certifications in Bleeding Control and Caring for Head, Neck, Muscle, Joint, & Bone Injuries.

Teaching Style: Comments and reviews from my students is the best way to truly get a feel for the way I instruct.  You can go to www.ppftllc.com and read their reviews. You will see words and phrases such as patient, knowledable, confident, affable, encouraging, resourceful, kind, humorus, great facilitator, and caring.  I like getting to know my students, giving them opportunities to learn gun handling skills in the classroom and then applying that learning during live fire.  To do that I use SIRT, (Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger) Pistols, Training Guns, and a Laser Ammo Simulator.  We all have different learning styles so my class materials are designed to tap into the style that allows you to best retain and implement new informatiin and skills.  Utilizing what the body does naturally when stress is applied such as in a violent attack is also integrated into all of my classes.  I truly love seeing students transform from a first time gun owner and shooter into a condfident and skillful operator.

The USCCA AR-15 Fundamentals course includes both classroom and live fire range instruction.  The class is designed to cover the safe handling of an AR-15, proper care, storage and maintanence of the rifle.  Students will be exposed to a variety of drills designed to increase their comfort and competency with the AR-15 platform.

Policies

Cancellation Policy

Classes run regardless of weather conditions.  However, if the weather is too difficult for students to safely attend the class I will provide an email notification 24 hiours in advance.

Reschedule Policy

If you find that you need to reschedule a class just contact me at ppft.llc@gmail.com
In your email message please include a future date and time that work best for you.

Refund Policy

While I do not offer refunds, I will work with you to find a suitable date and time to attend the class.

Other Policy

Waiver

After you have registered and paid for a class, I will email you additional class information and a Liabilty Release and Participation Agreement, that you will need to review, sign and bring with you on the day of the class.
