At MDTTactics, we don’t just teach—we prepare you to perform when it matters most.

Our courses include beginner through advanced firearms instruction for new, intermediate, and experienced shooters, as well as both basic and advanced armed and unarmed security officer training. We also provide essential lifesaving skills through Basic and Professional CPR and First Aid certification courses.

In addition, students can prepare for real-world emergencies with our Active Threat and Emergency Response training, along with practical Crime Prevention workshops focused on awareness, decision-making, and personal safety strategies.

Lead Instructor: Andre Walker

Andre Walker is the Lead Instructor of MDTTactics Training Group and one of the region’s most respected educators in firearms, security, and emergency response. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, he is a former Commissioned Police Officer with 10 years of service, bringing a full decade of real operational experience in law enforcement and federal security throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. His background gives students a rare blend of tactical skill, legal insight, and real-world judgment.

As a highly trained First Responder, Andre has answered real emergencies ranging from medical crises to high-risk security incidents. He is also a certified and extensively trained Health & Safety Instructor, qualified to teach CPR, First Aid, AED, and emergency-care programs with a strong focus on life-saving readiness and community protection.

Andre is certified across multiple disciplines, including firearms instruction, defensive tactics, active threat response, and emergency preparedness. He has extensive training as a Use of Force subject-matter expert, with deep knowledge of police powers, laws of arrest, and both MPD and DCJS (Department of Criminal Justice Services) Use of Force frameworks. His expertise is especially relevant for individuals entering private security, special police, and protective services, where legal compliance and sound decision-making are critical. 

Over the course of his career, Andre has trained thousands of students—including private security officers, law-enforcement personnel, healthcare professionals, educators, and everyday citizens seeking to improve their personal safety. His instruction emphasizes safety, discipline, legal responsibility, and practical application under stress.

Dedicated to building confident, capable, and prepared protectors, Andre Walker empowers students with the skills to defend themselves and others using both lethal and non-lethal tools—always grounded in real-world tactics and lawful use-of-force principles.

Policies

Cancellation Policy

Reschedule Policy

Students who provide at least 72 hours’ notice may reschedule one time without losing their course payment.

The following conditions apply:

• The student must reschedule for the same course or training service.
• The rescheduled course must be completed within 90 days of the original course date.
• Rescheduling is subject to course availability.
• A second rescheduling request may require an administrative fee or new registration.
• If the new course costs more, the student must pay the price difference.
• Course payments and registrations cannot be transferred to another person without prior written approval.
• Previously purchased online modules, certification fees, ammunition, targets, range fees, or other third-party expenses may not transfer and may require additional payment.

Requests made less than 72 hours before training may be denied and will result in forfeiture of the student’s payment.

Refund Policy

Other Policy

A student who does not attend a scheduled course or session and fails to provide advance notice will be considered a no-call/no-show.

No-call/no-show students forfeit all payments and will not receive a refund or course credit. A new registration and full payment will be required to attend another course.

Students should arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled starting time for check-in and preparation.

Late arrival may prevent a student from completing required instructional hours or required course content. A student who arrives late may:

• Be denied entry;
• Be required to reschedule;
• Be assessed an applicable late or administrative fee; or
• Be required to register and pay for another session.

A $50 late-arrival fee may apply to range training and qualification sessions. Being denied entry because of lateness does not qualify the student for a refund.

Certain group courses require a minimum number of registered students to operate. If minimum enrollment is not reached, MDTTactics Training Group may postpone or reschedule the course.

Affected students may choose to:

• Transfer the full amount paid to the next available group course;
• Apply the payment as a credit toward another eligible course; or
• Upgrade to private one-on-one or semi-private training by paying the applicable price difference.

Private and semi-private rates vary based on the course, instructional hours, facility costs, certification fees, training materials, equipment, and range expenses.

MDTTactics Training Group may postpone, relocate, or reschedule training because of severe weather, unsafe range conditions, instructor emergencies, facility closures, government restrictions, or circumstances beyond the company’s reasonable control.

Payments will be transferred to the rescheduled date or retained as a training credit. MDTTactics Training Group is not responsible for travel expenses, lost wages, childcare costs, lodging, or other personal expenses resulting from a schedule change.

Safety is our highest priority. Students must follow all instructor commands, firearm-safety rules, range procedures, and standards of professional conduct.

MDTTactics Training Group reserves the right to remove any student who:

• Violates safety rules;
• Fails to follow instructor commands;
• Handles a firearm or training equipment unsafely;
• Appears impaired by alcohol, drugs, medication, or another substance;
• Engages in threatening, disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate behavior; or
• Does not demonstrate the minimum knowledge, skills, judgment, or physical ability necessary to continue safely.

Students removed for safety or conduct violations will not receive a refund. Remedial or private instruction may be required before the student is permitted to continue, at the student’s expense.

Payment and attendance do not guarantee successful completion, certification, licensing, permit approval, or passage of a shooting qualification.

Students must satisfy all attendance, safety, knowledge, skills, testing, qualification, and government eligibility requirements. Government agencies and certifying organizations make the final decision regarding licenses, permits, and certifications.

By submitting registration and payment, the student confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these policies.

Waiver

Participant Acknowledgment & Liability Waiver

I, [Participant Name], hereby acknowledge and agree to the following terms as a condition of participating in training conducted by MDTTactics Training Group:

1. Voluntary Participation

I understand and affirm that my participation in this training is entirely voluntary and undertaken of my own free will.

2. Assumption of Risk

I recognize that training activities may involve physical exertion and inherent risks, including but not limited to:

• Muscle strains or sprains
• Slips, trips, or falls
• Accidental contact injuries
• Other unforeseen incidents that may result in serious harm

I confirm that I am physically capable of participating and have consulted a healthcare professional if necessary.

3. Release of Liability

In consideration for being permitted to participate, I hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless [Facility Name] / MDTTactics Training Group, its owners, employees, contractors, and instructors from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to any injury, loss, or damage I may sustain while participating in this training, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

4. Acknowledgment of Policies

I acknowledge that I have received, read, and fully understand all MDTTactics Training Group policies, including but not limited to:

• Cancellation Policy
• Rescheduling Policy
• Refund Policy
• Emergency Policy
• General Terms and Conditions

I agree to comply with all policies and understand that failure to do so may result in forfeiture of payments or dismissal from training.

5. Acceptance of Terms

I affirm that I have read and understand this waiver in its entirety, and I voluntarily agree to its terms without coercion or misrepresentation.
